MARINE TOURISM

The Myeik ( Mergui ) Archipelago, located in southernmost part of Myanmar, comprises of over 800 gorgeous islands and covering an area of ten thousand square miles. These totally untouched and pristine islands have been closed to all foreigners until 1997.

With effect from January, 1997 Directorate of Hotels & Tourism issued the licenses to the yachting tour companies, who want to operate yachting tours around Kawthaung and Myeik Archipelago. Uptil now, 30 companies, mostly based at Phuket, Thailand have been issued licenses.

According to Myanmar Hotels and Tourism Law, the validity of the license is two years and the license fee is USD 3000. A license company is entitled to register 3 yachts. If the company owns more than 3 yachts, we will collect USD 1000 per extra yacht. The yacht, which is not under licensed company will be collected USD 2000 as special boat fee, when it wants to visit Myanmar water.

We allow 5 days / 4 nights per trip and the zone fee, we collect from each visitor is as follows:-

(a) Kawthaung & Environs USD 100

(b) Myeik Archipelago USD 150

Experienced guide from Myanmar Travels and Tours accompanied throughout the tour and the guide fee is USD 30 per day.

If the trip is more than 5 days / 4 nights, we will collect USD 20 / pax / day.

Moreover, the yachts can visit up to Yangon as adventure trip through Myeik Archipelago. We can assist you to proceed for visiting the tourist destinations such as Bagan, Mandalay and inlay Lake.
